The Person--Behind The Smile

Dear Bloggers,,

Theres this girl and every time i see her i wave and she smiles back, everyday, every time, without fail. What does her smile mean?? Is she really as happy as she appears. She is the kind of girl who always asks others how their day was,, she is the person you could confide to and someone who you could share your deepest secrets without judgement. Behind her back people always say how they want to be like her.. "she never has a bad day".."if i ever saw her cry i would cry too". People only saw the mask that she wanted people to see.. behind closed doors she was different. She never smiled she never laughed,, she never lived her life she only existed.. thoughts danced in her head..objects brushed against her wrists. If only someone truly knew her,, if they only knew the truth. Every morning as she sat at her desk she would do the same routine she did every morning. Pull out her makeup bag and begin to paint a portrait that everyone would approve of,, FIRST she would put her concealer under her eyes,, bags that she got because she couldn't sleep at night, thinking about the problems people shared with her. SECOND she would put her foundation on to cover up all her pimples which were caused by the deadly smoke she inhaled just to get high every night to pass the time that she spent alone,, thinking. THIRD was her mascara,, to cover up her swollen eyes from crying about her parents fighting last night. FOURTH she pulls out that bright blue nail polish to paint her nails to cover up the discoloration on her fingers that she got by forcing herself to throw up last night's meal. LASTLY,, she puts her lipstick on to paint a smile that will greet everyone as she walks past them. Do you know the person behind the smile.. have you ever stopped to ask how they were doing? Don't be tricked by their smile because like makeup it just covers up."Each day in our nation there are an average of over 5,400 attempts by young people grades 7-12". "Four out of Five teens who attempt suicide have given clear warning signs".
